KATRA: Police on Wednesday arrested auto driver, his associate and recovered 125 pouches of liquor from their possession.
According to a report, acting on a specific input, a police team headed by Sub-Inspector Vikas Jasrotia, In-Charge Police Post Kakryal laid special Naka at Jhajjar Nallah. During checking, police recovered 125 pouches of J and K Excise Liquor from the possession of two accused persons identified as Sanjay Singh (auto driver) son of Puran Singh resident of Dera Bhabbar Tehsil Reasi and Narinder Singh son of Bharat Singh resident of Dadoora Tehsil Katra District Reasi who were on way towards Katra from Tikri side in an auto bearing registration No.JK14B/1887.
The accused have been arrested and auto which was used for transportation of liquor has also been seized. A case vide FIR No. 100/2016 under section 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC was registered at Police Station Katra.
