KATRA: Police on Monday arrested an auto driver and his associate at Katra who were absconding.
According to a report, after strenuous efforts Inspector Narinder Singh Jamwal SHO Police Station GRP Katra and his team of officials arrested the accused Mohd. Akram alias Rinku son of Shakur Din resident of Kundeorian (Katra) (driver of Auto no. 7129 /JK02BB) and Ashwani Kumar son of Shiv Ram resident of Dhanori and also seized the auto used by them in committing the offence.
Both the accused persons were absconding after the commission of the crime in the jurisdiction of Police Station GRP Katra as they forcibly put Kanta Devi wife of Babu Ram son of Kamlu resident of Soul Panthal in their auto No. 7129/JK02BB on 14th June 2016.
The said lady jumped from the running auto to save herself and her honour and as a result of which she got injured. In this connection, a case FIR No. 04/2016 under section 366/354,323 RPC was registered against both the accused in Police Station GRP Katra on 14th June 2016.
