JAMMU: Atul Pangotra won silver medal in Individual Men Senior Pomsae during the World Taekwondo Hanmandang 2016 at Pokhra Nepal.
Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali appreciated the State Awardee Atul Pangotra at his office in Civil Secretariat Jammu and termed him one of the living legends of J and K.
During the meeting Atul briefed about the game as well as about his efforts for keeping the game alive in J and K and thanked Haji Anayat for supporting and appreciating the efforts of sportsperson like him.
Atul further added that the process for getting permission to sports person like him in J and K for participating in national and international events should be easy so that they can easily participate in those events.
He also briefed Haji Anayat Ali about the status of Taekwondo in Kargil and urged upon him to depute three taekwondo coaches who are working in different government departments to impart training to the students as Kargil is the most advanced district in the discipline of Taekwondo.
Anayat assured Pangotra for every possible support to uplift the game in the State and will take up the matter with the concerned authority as well as with Governor N.N Vohra so that sports come as a profession rather than as an option.
