RAJOURI: The Rajouri Police in the case of attack on a class 10h class girl student yesterday, arrested the accused within 24 hours of committing of the crime.
The accused who stabbed and seriously injured a girl yesterday while travelling in a four wheeler Auto during broad day light, had fled from the site and gone underground to evade arrest. The girl has been identified as Razia Kouser daughter of Shamas-u-Din resident of Trala, Tehsil Kotranka at present Panja Chowk, Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri. A case in this regard was registered at Police Station Rajouri under FIR 239/15 under section 354/323/504/506 RPC.
The SSP Rajouri Haseeb Mughal constituted a team headed by Incharge Police Post Rajouri Jehangir Ahmed which launched a manhunt and raided at different places to arrest the accused. The team finally raided a house in Manhas Mohalla of Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri and arrested the accused identified as Amir Manhas (21) son of Mohd Ayub resident of Manhas Mohalla Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri during wee hours today.
The incident had created panic in the whole town of Rajouri and the people who were anxiously waiting for the success of police efforts, have shown their satisfaction and hailed the interest taken by the SSP Rajouri and the team which worked out the case.
