NAGROTA: 41st Annual Athletic Meet of Sainik School Nagrota concluded on Thursday at school stadium amidst fanfare and jubilation. Trikuta House won the championship at the end of third and final day in senior category with 98 points, and in junior category with 85 points. The final day’s events included 4 x 100 mtr relay for juniors, 4 x 100 mtr relay for seniors, long jump, 400 mtr low-hurdle race and 100 mtr run for seniors. Cadet Chetanya Bhat won gold in 100 mtr run while Cadet Adarsh Kumar won gold in long jump in the Senior category.
The Closing Ceremony was marked by an impressive march past by the participating houses amidst resounding applause from parents who had been invited to witness this mega event. The Principal of the School gave away the medals and certificates to the winners of various track and field events. Cadet Nitish Raj of Jhelum House was declared Best Athlete amongst the seniors while Cadet Jai Bharat Yadav of Trikuta House won the best athlete award in the junior category. Addressing the cadets, the Principal lauded the performance of all athletes and urged them to train continuously to win at national level events. The athletic meet concluded with an exciting display by the School Band.
