SRINAGAR: Asif Gani Khanday resident of Qazigund and Rashid Farooq Reshi resident of Verinag secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Younis Mushtaq Reshi of Verinag won the Second Annual Marathon event ‘Run for Fun’ organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police South Kashmir Range in Anantnag, here on Thursday.
Asif Gani Khanday of Qazigund and Rashid Farooq Reshi of Verinag secured second and third positions respectively in the event.
Earlier, the marathon was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Swayam Prakash Pani, Deputy Inspector General of Police SKR who also participated in the event.
The event started from Water Treatment Plant Bumzoo and ended at Dak Bangalow Khanabal.
A large number of youth from District Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Awantipora participated in the event.
DIG SKR distributed the cash prizes of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 among the first, second and third winners respectively, besides medals and certificates to the participants.
S.P Pani praised the enthusiasm of the youth and assured that JKP will help the youth in honing their talent.
He also said that conducting such events, sports festivals and other activities will be a permanent process of JKP.
