JAMMU: NCF 2005 states, “Study of Maths must mathematize the thinking of students”. Mathematics is an expression of human kind which reflects the active will, the contemplative reason and the desire for aesthetic perfection. JKPS always strives creating an environment for the students which is exciting and prepares them for the future needs.
The budding Maths Wizards of Aryabhatta Club of JKPS Kunjwani solve questions related to the puzzles, number series; coding-decoding, blood relations by different methods and these activities help the students to enhance their mental ability and mathematical skills.
Reflecting on the significance of Maths Club, Preeti Tandon said, “It is useful in arousing and maintaining interest in mathematics; stimulates the active participation of the students; provides students an opportunity of free discussion; gives them basic training in such programmes; helps in making proper utilization of leisure time; helps in developing the habit of self-study; proves helpful in acquainting the students with the latest knowledge and developments in mathematics; gives them opportunity to translate the theory into practice and to make use of their learning in day to day life; and helps in arranging mathematical exhibitions”.
Manisha Sharma, member of Maths faculty, appreciated the passionate endeavours of Maths wizards in creating Maths models. She exhibited various higher order mental ability questions on the bulletin board of School Maths lab, designed by students.
Praising the mentors at Aryabhatta Club of Maths Wizards, Rajesh Rathore Principal JKPS Kunjwani stated, “They teach children to think out of the box to solve a problem that they have never encountered before. Some of these activities are very abstract strategy-based games, and some are engaging real-life problems. They are designed to capture the imagination of the learners in the classroom, who are passionately interested in Maths. They stretch pupils’ understanding by encouraging them to reason logically, delving deep into the mathematics behind the patterns that they can see”. He wished them good luck for designing working models, projects, floor diagrams while organizing the International Maths day ahead.
