Inaugurates International Art Exhibition & Workshop ‘Valley City’ at Kala Kendra

JAMMU: Yudhvir Sethi, MLA East Constituency, along with Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture & School Education, on Sunday inaugurated the International Art Exhibition & Workshop ‘Valley City’ at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, Jammu.
The three-day event, organized by Kala Kendra Society, Jammu, in collaboration with Art Express, Gujarat, will showcase a variety of artworks from national and international artists, promoting cultural exchange and creativity.
In his address, Yudhvir Sethi highlighted the importance of art and culture in fostering unity and creativity among people. He stated, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has seen a renewed emphasis on promoting art and culture across the nation. The government has initiated various schemes and programs to ensure that artists receive the recognition and support they deserve. This exhibition is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the rich cultural heritage of our country.”
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, several initiatives have been launched to help artisans and craftsmen. Projects like the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, and the beautification of Kedarnath show our commitment to India’s culture. The Aatmanirbhar Bharat Centre for Design trains artisans and promotes Indian crafts worldwide. The government’s goal is to empower local craftsmen and give their work an international platform,” he added.
He also assured full support to Kala Kendra in near future.
Priya Sethi, former minister also praised the organizers and congratulated the Art Express team from Gujarat and Kala Kendra Jammu for putting together this wonderful event.
The former Minister lauded Babita Hada for her endeavor for curating this event.
Suresh Kumar Gupta, also appreciated the initiative. He highlighted the importance of such events in promoting art and culture and bringing people together. He encouraged artists to keep expressing their creativity.
KK Gandhi, a globally famous artist from Jammu also spoke on the occasion.
Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary of Kala Kendra Society, Jammu, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to MLA Yudhvir Sethi for sparing his valuable time for this event.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 11 AM to 5 PM daily, and visitors will have the opportunity to participate in workshops conducted by renowned artists. The event aims to provide a platform for artistic expression and exchange of ideas.
The inauguration was attended by art enthusiasts, dignitaries, and members of the public, who praised the efforts of Kala Kendra Society and Art Express for organizing this significant cultural event.
