Arrest Geelani for seditious utterances: JPPF

JAMMU: Taking strong exception to the dictate of Geelani on the duration of Amarnath Yatra, Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) warned separatist leader to desist from interfering in the religious affairs of Hindu community.

Speaking in the meeting held here on Sunday, President JPPF, Pavittar Singh questioned the veracity and authority of his statement demanding restructuring the historical religious event involving sentiments of crores of devotees belonging to Hinduism besides others visiting the Cave Shrine for Darshan of holy Shiv Lingam since times immemorial.

Hitting hard on the State PDP-BJP Coalition Government for their soft approach to curb militancy, Pavittar said that separatists sponsored by the Pakistan and ISI are raking anti national elements in India under well planned criminal conspiracy to create communal trouble and unrest every year exactly on the onset of Yatra.

“The PDP-BJP agenda for good governance has given rise to antinational activities so much that hoisting of Pakistani flag and antinational sloganeering every now and then has become a routine matter”, he said demanding immediate arrest of Syed Ali Shah Geelani under Treason Act for his provocative and seditious utterances which are poisoning the atmosphere causing a great set back to tourism which is the back bone of the State economy.

Besides, M.S Katoch Working President, the meeting was attended by Inderjeet Khajuria, Gajan Singh Khajuria, Avinash Bhatia, Rajiv Mahajan, Gajan Singh (Akali Dal), S.P.S Slathia, Amrit Magotra, Sunita Sharma, Kamla Sharma, Narian Singh, M.L Sharma, B.L Bhardwaj, R.L Tandon and Balwinder Singh.
