BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed on Monday took stock of the arrangements being put in place at Sumbal Transit Camp by various line departments for SANJY-2022.
At the outset, the DC sought details from the concerned regarding the facilities available including accommodation, water, electricity, arrangements for food and medical facilities besides other essentials.
Dr. Owais reviewed the movement plan for yatries and stressed on efficient utilization of space and waste management to ensure smooth conduct of SANJY-2022.
The DC directed all the officers present in the meeting to ensure that all arrangements are put in place for smooth conduct of yatra. He urged officers to ensure cooperation and coordination on all fronts and time bound arrangements for successful SANJY-2022.
Earlier, the DC conducted inspection of ongoing works at transit camp Sumbal and directed for maintenance of proper sanitation and cleanliness besides proper drinking water facilities at the yatra transit camp. He asked officers to complete the construction of prefabricated huts at the earliest besides other facilities.
Dr. Owais directed the officers to expedite the works undertaken to augment the accommodation for temporary halt at transit camp in Shadipora in wake of expected huge footfall of yatries this year paying obeisance at holy cave via Baltal route.
He stressed for intensified preparations for the basic amenities at the transit camp and directed concerned officers to take all yatra related works on priority.
The meeting was attended by District Programme Officer ICDS Mohd Ashraf Hakaak, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal Dr. Bashir Ahmad Lone, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, officers from PHE, R&B and other senior officers of the district.
