Around 400 players to take part in 5-day National Tennikoit C’ship in Jammu from today

JAMMU: Nearly 400 players to compete during the five-day National Tennikoit Championship scheduled to begin here at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar from tomorrow.
President, Tennikoit Federation of India (TFI), who is also president, Jammu and Kashmir Tennikoit Association (JKTA), Rajeev Sharma said that the five days national championship is going to begin here tomorrow.
“Around 400 players and more than 70 officials from over 20 states and union territories will be taking part in the championship,” said Sharma.
The opening ceremony will be held tomorrow (Sept 30) morning at 11:15 am wherein Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Shakti Pathak will be the chief guest and Mohammad Hanief, Chief Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council will be the special guest.
The championship will conclude on October 4, said Sharma adding, “all required arrangements are in place and it is an opportunity for our youngsters to get more exposed to the game and showcase their talent by competing at the national platform.”
