Army’s fight alone?

0 54

Dear Editor,
Ever since the strikes by our Army, a fierce debate has been raging, both in the print as well as electronic media about severing ties with everything ‘Pakistani’. Many individuals, parties and organisations are taking opposing stands on the issue, debating the pros and cons of engaging with our adversary at this critical juncture. The discussion on the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil occupied most of the prime time space. As it stands today, the film will be released on the due date, albeit under government patronage. The developments make one wonder as to who our actual adversary is! By ‘Pakistan’ do we mean the people of Pakistan, or does it imply hostilities solely between the two armies? Is it only the Army’s ‘baby’ while all others can have ‘business as usual’? Let us ponder on the true meaning of nationalism and act accordingly.
