Army reviews security scenario ahead of Amarnath Yatra

RAMBAN: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Delta Force organised a coordinating conference, involving all the security and intelligence agencies alongwith civil administration, to take a stalk of the prevailing security environment in the Chenab Valley in view of forthcoming Amarnath Yatra. The emphasis was laid on overall preparations of the Yatra, in view of expected huge influx of Yatris, commencing in first week of July. It is worth noting that the state of NH 44 after the region saw incessant rains in previous months still remains a road block in the smooth conduct of Yatra. The coordinating conference was attended by Firdous, Assistant Commissioner of Revenue, Kameshwar Puri, Deputy SP, Ramban, Meena, head of Road Construction company, Commandant 48 Battalion SSB, Commandant 42 Battalion SSB and representatives of other agencies involved in the conduct of Yatra. The conference was chaired by Sector Commander himself and all issues were discussed in details for smooth conduct of Yatra. All the points of concern were discussed in detailed to reach a common consensus to formalize the right strategy for Yatra to include security arrangements , protection of Yatri convoys, regulation of traffic, enhancing facilities of Langars and medical facilities all across the NH 44.
