Army recruitment rally begins in Samba

SAMBA: An army recruitment rally is being organised at District Police Lines Samba with effect from 2nd to 18th April 2016. The rally will be covering candidates belonging to Samba, Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi, Poonch, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar district. For the second time in J&K, the rally is being conducted based on as Online System of Registration of candidates which is a departure from the earlier Open Rally System. The candidates who have registered themselves and applied online in www.joinindianarmy.nic.in have been called for participation in the rally. A total of 42,868 candidates have registered for the current rally. (Rajouri 5,698 candidates, Poonch 2,160 candidates, Jammu 11,769 candidates, Kathua 8,185 candidates, Kishtwar 887 candidates, Doda 2,401 candidates, Samba 5,188 candidates Ramban 1,142 candidates, Reasi 1,463 candidates and Udhampur 4,035 candidates)
Today 2,251 candidates of Tehsils Darhal, Rajouri, Budhal and Kalakot of Rajouri district only participated in the run of which 732 passed (one candidate was rejected for having a tatoo). Tomorrow the rally will be for candidates from Tehsils Thanamandi, Nowshera and Sunderbani of Rajouri district and Poonch District.
Successful candidates will then be inducted into the various arms and services of the army. This will go a long way in meeting the aspirations of youths of the area who wish to join the army and serve the Nation. The recruitment process is totally computerized and is absolutely transparent. Recruitment is carried out by five independent and separate board of officers detailed by various Headquarters. Special emphasis is being laid to make all candidates understand this recruiting process, so as to avoid their falling prey to touts and undesirable elements.
The rally is being organized by Army Recruiting Office Jammu of Headquarter Recruiting Zone, Jalandhar Cantonment (Punjab and J&K). the overall conduct of this rally is under the arrangements of Gurj Division based in Pathankot with assistance from Civil Administration of Samba District. The positive and forthcoming support rendered by Deputy Commissioner and Joginder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba and Mohamed Ismail, Naib Thesildar Samba in terms of crowd control, security arrangements, medical support by State Administration and provision of water and sanitation for the candidates was lauded by Brigadier JS Samyal, Depuity Director General Recruiting (Punjab & J&K) .
