Army organises recruitment rally

SRINAGAR: A recruitment rally was organised in north Kashmir’s Kupwara District for aspirants of the State to join the Indian Army.
The three-day recruitment rally organised by army, received massive response from the local youths and as many as 4,000 of them turned up for the 55 vacancies.
“The lure of adventure, dignity and selfless service was conspicuously evident on the zealous faces of over 4,000 candidates who came for the recruitment rally in Kupwara today,” Defence Spokesman Colonel N.N Joshi said.
The recruitment rally for Territorial Army commenced at Panzam garrison for aspirants of parts of Kupwara District for whom physical tests were conducted, the spokesman said.
“Physical tests for the aspirants hailing from Karnah, Keran, Handwara, Langate, Vilgam and Taradhpora Tehsils will be held tomorrow while the candidates from Bandipora District will go through these tests Saturday,” he said.
Those who qualify the physical test will be put through other tests including intelligence test on 22nd and 23rd May. “A total of 55 vacancies exist out of which 52 vacancies are for Soldier (General Duty), one for Washerman, and two for Clerks,” he added.
