WOMEN DRIVING CADRE  AT KALAKOTE  BY ARMY STATE TIMES NEWS
KALAKOTE: In the present society, women are looking forward towards self sustenance and to improve their way of life realising the need of wider role of women in running the family. Rashtriya Rifles at Kalakote under the aegis of Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Headquarter sensed this requirement of women population in and around Kalakote and came out with a training project to empower these women with driving skills and reduce their dependency on male members of the family for conveyance by private vehicles and manage their daily household chores comfortably.
A driving course for women is being conducted for a duration of 20 days from 25th Feb 2016 to 15th Mar 16 at Kalakote with participation of 11 women.
During the training, the participants will be trained on theoretical as well as practical aspects of driving.
Speaking on the occasion, the army authorities said that this step is a part of the overall effort by the organisation towards empowerment of women which will enable them to become self-dependant in future thereby reducing their dependency on male members of their families for day to day needs. Army also brought out that similar projects are also planned for future.
The general public of Kalakote conveyed their gratitude for this innovative idea of the army in line with a number of initiatives to improve the standard of life of women.
The aspiring women trainees said that the professional skills imparted to them will help them become more independent and they would be able to efficiently run their family in today’s dynamic society.
