Lolab, 12 January 2015. In the run up 67th Army Day Blood Donation and awareness camp was organised under the aegies of Chinar Corps by the Rashtriya Rifle unit based at Lolab along with Civil Authorities at Primary Health Centre, Sogam on 12 January 2015. The Chinar Corps has been organising various welfare activities in the run up of Army Day 2015. Under the Army Day activities this was the second blood Donation Camp wherein more than 60 unit of blood was donated both by Army and civil Donors.
The units collected were provided to District Hospitals of Kupwara and Handwara with 20 each and 20 units stored at storage facility of Sogam. For the rare blood groups, Army Jawans of Rashtriya Rifles units volunteered to donate blood as Army maintains the record of such rare blood groups .On the occasion the senior officials of health department mentioned that the blood will meet the urgent surgical requirement at the hospitals and thanked Army for organising such events to help people requiring blood transfusions.
