Army holds communal harmony meeting

POONCH : Army organised an amity meeting at village Haribudha on Wednesday to enhance people to people contact and thus establish bonhomie and confidence between the army and the local population. The meeting was attended by large number of villagers from Haribudha. Amongst those present were the Sarpanch of the village, religious teachers and prominent members of the society.

The interaction aimed at spreading awareness amongst the local population about role of army in nation building and welfare activities being undertaken in the area of responsibility.  The amity meetings are forums for discussion on various Sadhbhavana and other welfare measures that the army could conduct to help in the upliftment of the local populace. The feedback and inputs from the locals is essential to plan various projects which would be of genuine benefit to the inhabitants.

The locals applauded the work under taken by the army and conveyed their appreciation for the selfless service being rendered by them to motivate the youth and children of the area. They were also appreciative of these meetings which involved the populace in the formulation of the plans by the army to engage the youth and in selecting ‘Sadhbhavana’ projects which would help the progress and growth of the region.
