Jammu: Army troops on Thursday busted a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Ramban District.
Security forces received a tip-off about presence of a militant cache in the dense Chaurangal Forests of Ramban District and launched an operation, a defence spokesman said.
During the operation, a well concealed militant hideout was discovered, busting of which led to recovery of an arms cache, including two pistols with magazines, two AK magazines, 37 AK-47 rounds, two radio etc, one binocular and iron pellets, he said.
The spokesman said that recovery of such a huge cache of war like stores due to relentless efforts of both Rashtriya Rifles and JKP has resulted in jeopardising the nefarious designs of the militants to create unrest in the regions south of Pir Panjal prior to onset of winter and in view of the forthcoming elections.
