AKHNOOR: Timely action by army prevented major damage to overhead power lines and cultivated land at Thati village.
The fire which broke out at 1230 hrs spread along Chenab River in wild bushes and trees near the houses of the villagers. Army swung its fire services personnel into action and was able to control it. No damage to life and material was reported.
