Armed police organises Debate Competition on Human rightsSTATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: To sensitise the police personnel of J and K Police on human rights, a range level debate competition was held at DPL Jammu. The topic of the debate was ‘Respect of Human Rights is respect of Natural/Constitutional laws of a Responsible Society’. The debate was conducted under the aegis of Zonal IRP Headquarter Jammu and was logistically assisted by IRP-10th Battalion.
Yoginder Koul IGP IRP Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
He highlighted the importance of human rights and vouches to promote the human rights in the State and country as well.
He said that J&K Police is committed to secure the lives and properties of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and also to restore peace in the society. The jury consisted of D.K. Slathia (Chairman), Commandant IRP-7th Bn, Mohan Lal, SSP, Commandant IRP-10th Bn, Anita Sharma, SSP, Commandant IRP-15th Bn and Raj Kumar, Senior Prosecuting Officer ZAPHQ Jammu. A total of 18 contestants from different IRP Battalions participated in the debate and spoke in favour as well as against the motion. The debate was concluded with the announcement of the result in which DySP Surinder Singh Choudhary, SI Isha Mahajan and SI Saurab Bhatti secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in favour of motion. Similarly DySP Ram Singh, DySP Manzoor Hussain and Inspector D.K. Bhardwaj secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively against the motion.
The Chief Guest congratulated all the participants for their exemplary performance in debate.
