AOI resents low voltage, power cuts in industrial area

JAMMU: Association of Industries (AOI), Gangyal expressed concern over the low voltage and unscheduled power cuts in SICOP Industrial Complex, Gangyal, Jammu, for the last twenty days.
In a meeting here on Friday, President AOI, Rajesh Jain raised serious concern about the frequent tripping of power supply and low voltage from Grid Station and Gangyal Receiving Station due to which the unit holders are facing problem and their production activity disturbed resulting huge financial loss. Apart from production loss, the motors and electrical parts of the machinery are damaged because of interruption and low voltage, he said adding that the matter was brought in the notice of Chief Engineer, M&RE and System Operation.
The association members strongly flayed the working of Power Development Department (PDD) where nobody is accountable for repeated power failures and low voltage in Industrial Area, Gangyal. “The Officers Incharge are not taking care to improve the system. Even the built-in system of taps to increase the voltage is not being take care leaving the entrepreneurs at the mercy of God,” he they added.
The association apprised Dy. Chief Minister Nirmal Singh regarding the present power scenario in Industrial Area, Gangyal. “The instructions were issued by the Dy. Chief Minister to provide uninterrupted power supply for continuous 21 hours to Industrial Area, Gangyal. The schedule was also prepared for three hour curtailment but the officers of Power Development Department at the helm of affairs are bent upon to damage the industrial sector as well as the image of Deputy Chief Minister,” they said.
“If this scenario continues, the industrial units will force to give keys to the Deputy Chief Minister. We again appeal to Deputy Chief Minister either to provide us uninterrupted power supply to the industrial sector or ask industrialist to close their industry,” the association members lamented. The meeting was attended by Bansi Lal Gupta, S.B Abrol, Vijay Sharma and Sanjeev Vig.
