Ansh Chopra upbeat with Sub-Jr Billiards, Snooker titles

JAMMU: Secretary, J and K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra has assured all help to the Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association in strengthening the cue game through improved infrastructure and projection of players.
This was stated by General Secretary of the Association and senior player, Vishal Abrol, who called on Secretary JKSSC to project their demands.
“We have a number of issues concerning the game of Billiards and Snooker. A couple of demands, need to be addressed immediately, have been projected. The Association is hopeful of a positive response at the earliest,” disclosed Abrol.
Himself a former state champion in the game, Vishal said, “The Billiards Hall at MA Stadium requires immediate repairs and the existing infrastructure, especially the tables, need to be upgraded to the present standards.”
In the meantime, only international player from the state, Younis Kuchey, who represented Department of Forests in the state meet and belongs to district Srinagar, was delighted to take away twin titles of senior snooker and maiden 6-Red Ball competition. His brilliant play also earned him the special prize for highest break (90).
Meanwhile, in the story, with regard to valedictory function of the State Billiards and Snooker Championship, those winners were inadvertently mentioned as runners-up and vice-versa.
