Another group leaves for Himachal trekking

JAMMU: As a part of the ongoing Himalayan Trekking Programme, organized by Tawi Trekkers J and K, the third group of trekkers comprising 45 students including 20 girls of Shangrila Public School, Sarwal here left today for Chamunda under the leadership of Joint Secretary of the Club, Sonam Sidharth.

Two teachers of the school, Tejinder Singh and Ranjana Gandotra along with two members of Tawi Trekkers, Puneet Sharma and Bhanu Partap Singh also accompanied the group.

Earlier, the group was flagged off by Principal of Shangrila Public School, Surestha Khajuria. A large number of members of the club and parents of the participants gave them a warm send off in the school premises.

Students taking part in this trekking programme are also taught to respect nature and environment and not create a clutter of left over in the jungles en-route.

Meanwhile, the first group of trekkers of Oriental Academy Senior Secondary School has reached back after a memorable trekking experience. Next group of trekkers of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jammu shall leave for Moungri in district Udhampur on 7th June.
