Anil again elected Kabaddi Association president

JAMMU: Political activist and businessman, Anil Gupta has been made president of J and K Amateur Kabbadi Association for second consecutive term in delayed elections held during a meeting which was chaired by former President and founder member, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, the other day, here.
However, the members present could not elect other office bearers for important posts like general secretary and treasurer and subsequently empowered the president to name the new body in due course of time.
The meeting, besides 18 district representatives of the Association, was attended by Joint Secretary J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma and member, Rahil Gupta; Secretary J and K Olympic Association, Ashutosh Sharma and representative of Kabaddi Federation of India, Sanjeev Kumar as observers, claimed a handout issued by the association here today.
Speaking to the gathering, re-elected President, Anil Gupta assured the members that a team of competent individuals will be nominated in near future with an aim to give fillip to the game of Kabaddi in Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing his gratitude to the district associations for reposing faith in him, he assured that he will go extra mile to promote Kabaddi.
The elections took place only after repeated notices from the Governing Body of State Sports Council.
