Anganwadi workers to protest nationwide on Nov 24

JAMMU: A nationwide demonstration of Anganwadi workers and Helpers will be held on 24th November, 2014 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi in support of their long pending demands under the banner of the Akhil Bhartiya Anganwadi Karamchari Maha Sangh, a unit of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh. This was stated by Ashok Choudhary, Secretary Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh in a press conference held here on Sunday.
A large number of Anganwadi workers and helpers will participate in the said agitation from all districts and blocks in the Jammu Division, he informed.
Choudhary said they have been demanding for declaration of Anganwadi workers and Helpers as government employees by the Central Government and pay Rs 15,000 per month to them and Rs 10,000 to helpers as minimum wage and pay salary at proper time, introduce pension scheme as well as provision of Gratuity Act 1972, all social security benefits, EPF, ESI and medical benefits with all welfare schemes etc.
He further demanded from the State Government and election officer of the State to pay TA/DA under rules as per government employees to Anganwadi workers if they put on election duty.
Association President Swarna Choudhary and General Secretary Neelam Sharma were also present on the occasion.
