SRINAGAR: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali on Saturday asked the department employees to work sincerely and honestly to resurrect the image of CAPD among masses.
Speaking during his felicitation ceremony for receiving the best legislator for 2012 award here at Women College, M A Road, the minister said that the actions of CAPD employees should be such that only good things should come to minds of people whenever they talk about the department.
He said that to improve the image of the department among the people and to take it to new heights would be the greatest felicitation for him and it would be achieved by the cooperation of the employees. The minister said that award he received is for raising the voice of voiceless, and for highlighting the plight of downtrodden people, however, now being the Minister for CAPD efforts should be made to receive best department award by improving the work culture in the department. The minister said that every department has some bad elements due to whom the entire department gets blamed. He said that it is the job of rest of the employees to resurrect the image of the department among the masses.
Reiterating the need to ensure the policy of honesty is followed at all levels, Zulfkar Ali said that if my employees believe that I am honest then they have to work with me honestly. Turning philosophical, the minister said that people only take good deeds to their graves, while corruption in any form eventually leads to a bleak future only.
Ali called CAPD a “family” and said everyone from Minister to Secretary, and from Director to store keeper is the part of the family, and everyone needs to work hard to take the department to new heights and to give a positive message about its functioning.
