SAMBA: Department of Youth Services and Sports on Tuesday conducted Zonal Trials of volleyball & kho-kho under 14, 17 and 19 categories in the premises of The Pathseekers International School (TPIS), Ramgarh, Samba.
The selection process was held under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Ramgarh, Chander Prakash in presence of Divya Kotwal, Promila Sharma, Deep Kumar and Sudesh Choudhary, In-charges of trials and Physical instructor Satpal Sharma from TPIS.
On the occasion, SSP (Retd) Bhupinder Singh, Chairman of The Pathseekers International School was the Chief Guest.
He said that such events may increase the morale of youth and provide a platform to flourish their hidden talent.
He said that the sports activities are very much required to make our youth fit physically and mentally so that they may contribute for the society and nation.
Singh appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs as it ruins lives, families and societies.
He advised the youth to follow their dreams and work as messengers of peace for Jammu and Kashmir.
“Youth has power for change and they should use their energy in positive activities so that peaceful and prosperous J&K is realised where there would be no place for destruction,” Singh said.
