JAMMU: MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi along with various departments and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials conducted an extensive tour covering Bikram Chowk, adjoining localities, and Rajiv Colony to assess civic issues and interact with residents regarding their concerns.
The visit focused on reviewing sanitation, drainage systems, road conditions, and ongoing development works in the area.
The MLA was accompanied by key officials, including Health Officer JMC Vinod Kumar Sharma, XEn Jammu Municipal Corporation Ashwani Khajuria, AEE UEED Sadiq Hussain Bhatti, CTO S. Dharmavir Singh, and Junior Engineer UEED Randhir Singh.
Their presence ensured on-spot evaluation of civic problems and immediate directions for redressal.
During the tour, residents of various localities apprised the MLA of issues such as clogged drains, damaged lanes, irregular sanitation, and inadequate waste management.
Taking note of these concerns, Yudhvir Sethi directed the concerned departments to resolve them at the earliest. He emphasized timely execution of development works and proper monitoring to prevent inconvenience to the public.
Speaking to the media, Yudhvir Sethi said, “Our priority is to ensure that basic civic facilities reach every household. Cleanliness, proper drainage, and road connectivity are fundamental requirements, and no area should be left behind in terms of development. I have instructed all departments to act swiftly on public grievances.” He further assured the people that necessary funds and resources would be allocated to accelerate improvement works. Sethi added that the objective of such regular field visits is to maintain direct interaction with citizens and ensure transparency in governance. He reiterated his commitment to delivering efficient civic infrastructure and maintaining high standards of public service in Jammu East constituency.
Officials accompanying the MLA also interacted with the locals and noted down specific issues for immediate action.
Health Officer Vinod Kumar Sharma briefed the residents about ongoing sanitation initiatives, while engineers from JMC and UEED evaluated technical requirements for drainage and repair works.
The tour concluded with Yudhvir Sethi reaffirming that development of every ward and mohalla remains a top priority. He assured that similar inspections will continue to ensure accountability and timely resolution of public issues.
