JAMMU: In a heartwarming display of communal harmony and selfless service, a Blood Donation Camp was organized on Sunday at Christian Colony, Ward No. 07, Jammu.
Yudhvir Sethi, Vice-President, J&K BJP & MLA Jammu East and Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP inaugurated the camp.
BJP leader Amit George Sotra, Church Pastor Zion Richard, Lilly Rose, Delight Dujohn organized the camp, which was jointly spearheaded by The Church of Prayer and Wonders in collaboration with the Jammu Blood Donors Welfare Society.
A total of 28 units of blood were donated during the camp. Notable among those who extended their support were Dr. Navneet Kour, Social Reformer J&K (NGO-SUPPORT), Dr. Varun Padha, Vishal Arora, Pankul Abrol, and Angelina Stephen, among others.
Yudhvir Sethi lauded the efforts of the organizers and termed the initiative as a noble act that transcends all boundaries of caste, creed, and religion. “Blood donation is the highest form of goodwill that one human can offer another. He said that the border states of India especially the Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed the unruly behavior of Pakistan claiming lives of many and injuries to the others. Undertaking the drive to donate blood at this crucial juncture of time, is a Godly act which every religion teaches. He said that BJP has already pursued the Blood donations on a mission base in the present time and expressed his happiness to see the enthusiasm from all quarters of society.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, in his address, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Church and the Donor Society on behalf of the entire BJP family and the people of India. He underscored India’s inclusive and secular fabric, emphasizing that citizens from all religious and regional backgrounds have always come forward in service of the nation. “Our collective strength lies in our unity and our commitment to humanity,” he remarked.
Pastor Zion Richard delivered an inspiring message, reminding attendees that the core teachings of Christianity-and indeed all religions-center around service to humanity. “For a true Christian, the nation always comes first. Donating blood is one of the many ways we can serve both God and country,” he stated.
Amit George Sotra concluded the event by expressing sincere thanks to all blood donors, volunteers, medical staff, and dignitaries for their unwavering support. He reiterated that such events not only help save lives but also reinforce the social and spiritual commitment of the community.
