JAMMU: Together we can harness the potential of the youth to steer humanity towards positive change, innovation, and progress.
In 1984, the Government of India chose to observe Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary as the National Youth Day. Since then, the day has been observed annually to promote Swami Vivekananda’s ideas, teachings, and way of life among youth.
This celebration of Youth Day commenced at JK Public School (JKPS) Panjtirthi with the theme of year 2024 “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”.
This theme focuses on how young people utilize digital technologies to contribute to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Jakiians sang a melodious song with the message ,”Youth are the key drivers to building a nation.So, the world needs to nurture, water, and let them bloom.”
Jakiians highlighted the International Youth Day slogan 2024 “Empowering Youth, Building Tomorrow.”
Jakiians enacted a skit to convey, “Youth are the seed of prosperity”.
Jakiians also lauded famous quotes to convey that International youth day gives a platform to the voice of the youth. It engages youngsters and aims to take initiatives and actions that will increase opportunities for them. This day promotes understanding and unity among the youngsters.
Shipra Mahajan, the Incharge addressed the Jakiians and said, “There are many youths battling issues, and if you can inspire each other, do it together for the betterment of the world. This International youth day is to encourage, inspire, and transform youths into better humans for society.”
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah expressed, “Take risks in your life, if you win, you can lead! If you lose, you can guide!” – an insightful quote by Swami Vivekananda, encourages the youth to embrace challenges and view setbacks as opportunities for growth. This day not only celebrates the remarkable energy, ideas, and aspirations of young individuals worldwide but also underscores their pivotal role in shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable future.”
She further added, “This day offers a platform for governments, organizations, and individuals to collaborate and plan on strategies for empowering youth, enhancing their access to education, healthcare, and encouraging their involvement in tackling challenges like unemployment, poverty, and inequality that often impact young individuals disproportionately.”
Following the routine practice, the Principal asked different questions to Jakiians regarding the celebration and the winners were rewarded with cash prizes.
