Youth Cricket Club lifts maiden Bhaderwah Big Bash League 2023 Trophy, Sahil Strikers adjusted as Runner up

BHADERWAH: To provide a platform to youths especially from rural areas to showcase their talent and to divert the energy of youths towards positive activities, Army in collaboration with Administration, Police and Bhaderwah Media persons organised T-10 Casco Cricket Tournament ‘Bhaderwah Big Bash Leauge 2023’ under the banner of Khelo India, Fit India and Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.
After defeating their opponents in knock out league matches, Quarter Finals and Semi Finals, the final match of the tournament was played between Sahil Strikers vs Youth Cricket Club(YCC) Bhaderwah here on Sunday.
ADC Bhaderwah Dilmir Chowdhary was the Chief Guest, while ASP Bhaderwah Vinod Sharma, BDO Bhaderwah Anoop Sharma and Social Activist Taraq Batt were the Guests of Honour.
Heads of both eminent religious bodies including President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Bhaderwah Varinder Razdan and President Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah Abdul Hafeez Khateeb were present as special guests on the stage giving the message of communal harmony and brotherhood.
DDC Councilor Thakur Yudhvir Singh, Vice President MC Rishi Kotwal, Sarpanch Drudhu Ashok Sharma and YAC Naseer Mehboob were the special invitees. Renowned Educationist Arif Hamed Rana conducted proceedings of the event.
Beside dignitaries, officials of Administration, Police and Army, a large number of people were also present to witness the final match and valedictory function.
The event was aimed at to promote the sports activities, boost the moral and fitness level of the youths of the area and keep them away from menace of drugs.
A total 64 cricket teams participated in the mega event. The final match was played between Youth Cricket Club and Sahil Strikers, in which Youth Cricket Club won the match by six wickets.
Winner team was presented with winner’s trophy along with cash prize and medals while Runner-up team was also given runner’s up trophy along with cash prize and medals.
Dr Touseef Malik of Sahil Stickers was given Man of the Tournament for his all round performance, while Azmat Sheikh of Youth Cricket Club was adjusted as Man of the Match for his 58 runs knock with the help of 8 sixes and 2 Fours. A 62 years old player Taraq Butt was presented with Best catch award. Legendary cricketer Baber Mughal was also presented a memento as a token of honor. Pahadi Parindey team was given special Trophy for ‘Best Disciplined Team of the Tournament’.
While expressing their gratitude to organizers, youths said that we get a great opportunity to showcase their talent. They also thanked Media persons for organizing this cricket tournament, in which a large number of youths especially from far-off areas were engaged.
ADC Bhaderwah Dilmir Chowdhary, ASP Bhaderwah Vinod Sharma, Sanatan Dharam Sabha President Varinder Razdan and President Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah Abdul Hafeez appreciated the initiative taken by Bhaderwah Media persons for organising free entry tournament with such huge fanfare in collaboration with Administration, Police and Army.
The officers and Players hoped that such initiatives will continue in future as well.
