Young Panthers seek action against MLA Ramnagar

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Lambasting the MLA Ramnagar, Ranbir Singh Pathania for his high headedness which crossed all the limits of arrogance to quell the voice of the people and also his criminal conduct, Young Panthers held the legislator culpable for taking law in his hands by deliberately hitting and running his car over the protestors sitting on Dharna at Ramnagar on Tuesday.
Revealing the unpleasant episode, Pawan Dev Singh General Secretary Young Panthers said that the inhabitants including the Panthers activists of Ward No.12 were staging a protest demonstration in front of M&RE office in Ramnagar against the disruption of power supply within the town area limits due to the breakdown of transformer. He further disclosed that coincidently the local MLA, R.S Pathania who was travelling in his car reached the protesting site and on seeing the MLA, the protestors urged him to direct the concerned XEN to repair or replace the defunct transformer to their relief. Singh maintained that instead of redressing the grievances of the people, the MLA arrogantly directed his PSO to disperse the crowd out of the way by use of force even ordered his SPOs to open fire on protestors which however they refused. He said that erring PSO pushed and even assaulted the protestors and hurled filthy abuses at them which led to chaos and turned things ugly. He said that to evade the wrath of infuriated protestors, the delinquent MLA opted to run over his car on the innocent protestors sitting on Dharna and in the process a protestor namely Aslam Khan sustained injuries after being hit by the erratically driven vehicle.
Pawan Dev added that following the incident the NPP activists filed a FIR at the SDPO’s office demanding stringent action against the felon MLA under the law but lamented that nothing had been done so far and the high headed culprit was moving scot free. He said that after becoming a legislator R.S Pathania remained actively involved in vilification campaign of the opposition leaders besides other criminal activities and used media for his ulterior motives. Moreover, he was reported to have accumulated unexplained assets during his one year tenure and his credibility was marred by the fact that several complaints of corruption were lodged against him by the people including his party colleagues. Singh disclosed that the MLA was reportedly involved in fleecing the innocent unemployed youth and extorting huge amount of money from them in the name of employment besides blackmailing and threatening officers and fleecing them ultimately and a press conference in this regard had been held by his own party man also.
Pushpinder Singh and Rakesh Singh Young Panthers leaders said that R.S Pathania turncoat who all of a sudden became an affluent man with an abrupt rise from ‘rags to riches’ was now roaming around openly in luxury cars and dared to hit people without any fear. Besides, seeking action against the MLA for his misdeeds, they sought immediate action on the FIR filed by the local people of Ramnagar against Pathania failing which people would be forced to resort to agitational course.
