Youm-e-Ashura observed with reverence

DODA: Youm-e-Ashura was observed on Wednesday with great reverence and religious fervour in Doda region of Chenab Valley to pay rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of Prophit Mohammad (SAW) and his companions for the supreme sacrifice in Karbala.
In this connection, the whole Doda town and its adjoining areas observed complete shutdown today on the call given by Markazi Seerat Committee Doda. Pertinent to mention here that the day was observed to commemorate the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions at Karbala to uphold the truth.
Earlier in the morning amid tight security, thousands of people wearing black badges gathered at Jamia Masjid Doda and from there in a shape of huge procession, passed through the main bazaar of Doda town and later culminated at Eid Gah Doda where various Islamic scholars addressed the gathering. The speakers on the occasion threw light on the historical, social and religious aspects of the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
In addition to it, the speakers also expressed serious concern over the killings in Kashmir made by security forces and police during the past three months which has worsened the situation and peace and tranquility of the State.
The speakers also expressed serious concern over the rallies carried out by RSS in Doda and Kishtwar Districts and termed it a well planned thought to incite communal discord in the region.
All the business establishments remained close the whole day whereas vehicular traffic was thin on roads. However, strict security measures were taken along the procession routes to avoid any untoward incident.
Those who addressed the gathering includes Saidullah Balwan, Ab Qayoom Zargar, Ab Hafiz Sheikh (Furqan Abadi) and Mohd Suhaib Balwan.
MENDHAR: An Ashura procession was taken out by Anjuman Kazmi and Anjuman Hedri on the occasion of martyrdom of Imam Hussain with great honour and reverence.
The mourners in this procession were wailing and beating their chests in memory of Imam Hussain who attained martyrdom in the Battle of Karbala alongwith his companions. The mourners passed through Mukadas Academy reciting Nohas and Marsiah and finally culminated in Imambara The administration on this occasion had made proper traffic arrangements and security arrangements. Prominent among those who participated in the procession include Munir Hussain Shah, Sadaq Hussain Shah, Anwar Hussain Shah, Moulana Aleem Mohd and Tazeem Kazmi.
