YNC protests over Adm breakdown in maintaining essential services

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Youth National Conference (YNC) workers on Saturday staged a Dharna at Nanak Nagar here in protest against fast deteriorating civic and other utility services, attributing this to the failure of the PDP-BJP Coalition Gover-nment on all fronts. Raising slogans against the apathetic approach of the government, the workers, led by Provincial Secretary YNC Tejinder Pal Singh Aman, assailed the indifference of the government towards needs of the people in terms of utility services and other facilities. The protesters expressed anguish over delay in reconstruction of the culvert, which has been partially dismantled, being the main approach to entire Nanak Nagar area, saying this has not only hampered the flow of traffic but has also emerged as a major source of water logging in the event of rains. Demanding immediate reconstruction of the culvert and maintenance of interior roads, Aman said that lack of political direction has resulted in administrative inertia that has terribly impacted normal life in the area. He said the peripheries present a look of huge slum and garbage den due to non-challant approach of the agencies concerned.
He regretted over the attitude of the local elected representative in solving problems of the people, saying the area stands neglected since the present dispensation took over reins of administration in the State.
The YNC workers sought reconstruction of the culvert on immediate basis.
