RAFIABAD: MLA, Rafiabad Yawar Dilawar Mir has expressed concern over the loss of fruit and standing crop in various areas of his constituency due to devastating hailstorm this afternoon. He has demanded adequate compensation to the affected farmers.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Yawar Dilawar has asked the district administration to send joint teams of horticulture, agriculture and revenue officers to assess quantum of damaged caused to fruit and crop due to hail storm that struck the area so that compensation can be worked out in favour of the victims.
Yawar Dilawar while consoling the effected farmers said that he would request the chief Minister for his personal intervention in this regard adding that fruit business is the main source of farmers in Rafiabad and Sopore which has been devastated by the hailstorm.
