BARI BRAHMANA: Yas-meen Akhtar, a class IX student of Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, brought laurels to the institution by winning three gold medals in the Inter District State Level Athletic Meet (2016-17) organised by the Department of Youth, Services and Sports at MA Stadium, Jammu recently.
About 500 students from all districts of J and K State participated in the tournament.
Yasmeen won gold medals in 100 mtr sprint, 200 mtr race and Shot-put in under-17 category.
She was honoured in the special assembly by Gaurav Charak (Principal), Anku Charak (Vice Principal) along with the staff members. Principal lauded the efforts of Mahan Singh (Sports Incharge) who leave no stone unturned for her tough training to reach on the top.
He along with his colleague Harish Nagyal (PTI) put all his efforts to train Yasmeen for all the competitions.
Principal said that the school management is paying focused attention to promote Physical Education in school and in this regard sports infrastructure has been upgraded in the school for providing platform to the students to take part in different sports activities at district, State and national levels.
