JAMMU: J&K Bank Academy and Young Rovers Club had a narrow escape against equally good opponents in the ongoing XXIII State Football Championship at different venues, here on Thursday.
In the first match, Young Rovers trounced Food and Supplies by a solitary goal. The J&K Bank Academy also witnessed resistance before they made it a 1-0 win against Churchill Brothers at GGM Science College Ground, here.
Meanwhile, in other three matches, played at Mini Stadium, Parade here, Shaheen Football Club, Jammu defeated District Football Association (DFA) Budgam via tie breaker 4-2 after the match ended 1-1 draw in the given time.
In another match, Sainik Colony Club trounced DFA Bandipora by solitary goal while DFA Baramulla trounced DFA Ganderbal 4-0.
FIXTURE: DFA Srinagar to face Vijay Club; Shaheen Club to take on Moosa Club; J&K Bank Academy to meet Lone Star Kashmir Club; Sainik Colony shall be playing against DFA Baramulla on Friday.
