KATHUA: Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority on Saturday celebrated World Tourism Day at Kathua.
As per press release, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority celebrated World Tourism Day by organising a plantation drive at its recently outsourced Way-Side Amenity, Kharote Morh, Kathua. Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Distt. Development Commissioner, Kathua was the Chief Guest on the occasion while SSP Kathua, Mohan Lal was the Guest of Honour.
At the outset, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority stated that the Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority is celebrating World Tourism Day for the first time since its inception in the year 2005-06.
He added that United Nations has chosen this year’s theme for the World Tourism Day as “Tourism and Community Development” and it is true that Tourism Industry Contributes to Community Development by creating Direct and Indirect employment opportunities. He especially thanked Soujanya Sharma,Director Tourism, Jammu for assisting in organising the function.
Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary appreciated LSDA for celebrating World Tourism Day by planting saplings of Neem, Palm and other ornamental plants.
