JAMMU: The Eco Club of Model Academy in collaboration with World Wide Fund (WWF) celebrated World Environment Day in the school premises, here on Friday. The day started with various activities like tying Rakhis to the trees, hugging the trees and planting saplings in the school campus.
The drive started with Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, planting the first sapling followed by the plantation drive by the students. Dr. Adit was accompanied by Rupa Gupta Management Representative, Usha Gadoo Officiating Principal, Manjari Sehgal, Academic Manager, ManjuVali, Convener Co-Curricular Activities, Poonam Gupta Incharge Eco Club and all the house incharges.
Dr. Adit while interacting with the students stressed, “We need to protect our environment and save it from getting polluted.” He further said that the disasters happening around the world are only due to ecological imbalance.
