World Biofuel Day celebrated

JAMMU: As a part of national campaign, NYCS Jammu unit in collaboration with IOCL, BPCL and HPCL celebrated World Biofuel Day here.
Pertinent to mention here that Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in collaboration with National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS), IOCL, BPCL and HPCL is celebrating World Biofuel Day at 100 different locations across the country.
On the occasion, MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta was the Guest of Honour. Hari Anupam, Chief Divisional Manager from IOCL stressed on significance of Bio-Fuel Day where this day is being celebrated all over the world to commemorate the success of diesel engine being run on peanut oil in 1893 by Father of Diesel Engine, Rudolf Diesel. Dr Pankaj Mehta, Assistant Professor, Department EVS, Central University, Jammu highlighted the nuances of research which is currently in practice in the field of biofuel industry all over the globe, he also stressed that the biofuel is the need of the hour for the effective energy management. Dr Zaffar Iqbal, Expert Solid Liquid Resource Management gave a detailed presentation on effective management of kitchen waste which is the need of the hour and need to be practised by each and every citizen.
Earlier, Opinder Sharma State Representative NYCS informed about the working of NYCS and initiative taken in diverse arena related to the field of micro-financing, PMKY, GAIL Indian Speed Star, etc. The stage was managed by Dheeraj Bali, State Coordinator NYCS, J and K State and vote of thanks was presented by Kishan Lal, Chief Regional Manager, HPCL. The event was graced by Suresh Gupta, MD SFC, Roop Avtar Kaur, Regional Director, Social Forestry, Dr. Senthil, Regional Wildlife Warden, Qamar, Conservator of Forest, Jammu, Rajesh Tikko, Manager IOCL and Brijesh Manager IOCL.
