Workshop on teaching aids held at Dogra College

JAMMU: A workshop-cum-exhibition on teaching aids was organised by Dogra College of Education wherein the B.Ed trainees of various practice of teaching groups gave presentations regarding their respective  models on different topics related to  various school subjects viz layers of atmosphere, water cycle, interior of earth, digestive system, structure of atom, human heart, source of energy,   global warming, human eye, soil erosion and types of rainfall, human cell, micro organisms, separation of substances, resources, paper industry etc.

The programme started with the welcome address by Shefali Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education.

In her welcome address she explained the relevance of teaching aids in the present day educational system.

Prof B.D Damral, Director, Dogra College of Education was the CHIEF GUEST who inaugurated the exhibition.

He highlighted the usefulness of teaching aids in the teaching learning process and also the interest, attention and motivation created among students with the help of the various types of audio–visual aids. He stressed upon providing quality education to the students and the use of innovative ideas and teaching methodology to create a healthy teaching learning environment.

Principals and faculty members from various schools of this area were also present. Poonam Gupta, Indu Puri, Senior Lecturers of the College and Bela Thakur, Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education acted as judges to select the best model out of all the groups.

In the teaching of Social Science, Aakash stood first, Bandhana Choudhary and Dimple stayed at second and third positions respectively, whereas the consolation prize was bagged by Caffi.

In the teaching of Science, Nisha bagged the first position, Vishaka stood second, Bindu Bala remained at the third spot, while consolation prizes were bagged by Agar and Romani.

In the teaching of English, Dimple Chinyal stood first, Bhawana stood second while third rank was bagged by Pallavi. In the teaching of Hindi, Anu Sharma stood first, Lalita Devi stood second and Shama Sharma bagged the third position. In the teaching of Mathematics, Rajni got the first position, Shivali stood second while Neha got the third place. Consolation prizses were bagged by Nisha and Vishaka.
