Workshop on intellectual property rights concludes

JAMMU: Two-day national workshop on Intellectual Property Rights organised by the University Business Incubation Centre concluded at the Central University of Jammu.
The two-day workshop was sponsored by sponsored by DC (MSME), M/O MSME, GoI under the scheme building awareness on Intellectual Property Rights for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) under National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP).
The valedictory session of the workshop, was chaired by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Patron of the Workshop, Prof. Aima applauded the efforts of the UBIC and its members for creating this learning platform for the students/ scholars / faculty / researchers and entrepreneurs of the region.
Amit Sharma, MD SIDCO, Chief Guest of the occasion, lauded the UBIC, Central University of Jammu for its initiatives towards fostering entrepreneurial spirit in the region.
It is pertinent to mention that UBIC has signed an MoU with Ashray Incubator for providing financial and other technical support for incubates. Further, it has also signed MoU with NASCOM Foundation which provides assistance under ten thousand start-ups in the country in IT sector.
Eight technical sessions were conducted during these two days covering various aspects of IP registration. Panel discussion on Make in India was conducted by Asif Ali and moderated by Prof S.K Sharma in which Annil Suri, CMD Tawi Electrodes, Amit Sharma, MD SIDCO and I.P Singh, MD UFlex were the resource persons.
Earlier, Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Chairperson, University Business Incubation Centre (UBIC) welcomed the audience and apprised about workshop and presented the report of the two day workshop.
Dr. Pankaj Mehta presented vote of thanks during the valedictory session.
The proceedings of the session were conducted by Anjali Pathania. The event was coordinated by Project Coordinators Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Dr. Pankaj Mehta, Dr Shahid Mushtaq and UBIC members including Gowhar Rasool, Asif Ali, Dr. Neelika Arora, Ranjeet Kumar Raman, Venkta Rammana Doddi, Pavan Kumar, Anjali Pathania, Varun Abrol, Rabinder Singh and Manjeet Singh.
Later, during the day a session on Gender Sensitisation was organised by SPARSH in collaboration with Department of National Security Studies.
