Workshop on human rights organised in MAM College

JAMMU: National Service Scheme (NSS) Wing of MAM College in collaboration with Association for Democratic Rights (ADR) organised two-day workshop on the Human Rights.
Principal of the College, Dr Anita Soodan inaugurated the workshop by lighting the traditional lamp and advised the NSS volunteers to associate with the series of programme being organised by the NSS Wing of the College in bringing the social reformation.
In the first session, Convener ADR, Balvinder Singh was Resource Person who spoke at length about Voter Education and Electoral Participation, and also highlighted multifarious related issues.
He instilled among the NSS volunteers the objectives of Voter Education and importance of electoral participation.
In the second session, Department of Law University of Jammu, Prof Balwant Singh was the Resource Person who deliberated in detail about Right to Information (RTI). He enlightened the volunteers about the classification of Human Rights, the purview of RTI, and necessary conditions and ways of seeking information from the government offices and the institutions run under government control.
The programme was compered by the senior NSS Volunteers Jasveer Singh and Gnesh Singh. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Sangita Soodan, NSS Programm Officer Unit- II and Dr. S.C Sharma Programme Officer Unit-III presented vote of thanks.
The others present were Dr. Mazammal Hussain NSS PO Unit-I, Prof I.A Khan and Prof Savita Jamwal.
