JAMMU: Keeping pace with the recent developments in child rights jurisprudence, the CHILDLINE-Jammu Nodal Organisation, Department of Law, University of Jammu in collaboration with Hamraah Foundation conducted Global Goal Keepers workshop here at Law Department. The workshop was attended by children from various NGOs along with their coordinators.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Director CHILDLINE, Department of Law, University of Jammu in his welcome address reflected on the human rights situation in India and highlighted the importance of Child Rights Convention of 1989 and various resolution passed by the United Nation from time to time. He appealed for their effective implementation in letter and spirit to all the stake holders. The children were made aware of various child rights issues and challenges through fun activity and games. Prizes were also distributed to the meritorious children.The children were asked to pen down their real life stories keeping in view the sustainable development goals enumerated by UNICEF.Sheikh Imtiyaz, Resource Person, Hamraah Foundation, New Delhi also addressed the gathering on child right issues. The workshop was supervised under the guidance of Kartika Bakshi, Sonam Parasher, Nitan Sharma (research scholars) Law Department.The vote of thanks was presented by Rohit Khajuria, City Co-ordinator, Childline Jammu.
