SRINAGAR: Under Civic Action Programme, IRP 8th Bn organised a T-20 Cricket Tournament at Sainik School in Manasbal, near here on Wednesday. Principal Sainik School Mansbal Nazir Ahmad Dar was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Nine teams from Bandipora and Ganderbal are participating in this tournament. Commandant IR 8th Bn M.L Mehra and other officers were present on the occasion.
Dy. Commandant G.L Sharma said that the basic aim of organising such programmes is to boost the morale of budding players of these districts and to channelise the energy of youth towards sports.
The inaugural match was played between Eleven Friends Kangan and Wonder Boys Safapora which was won by later. Shahid Ahmad khan of Wonder Boys Safapora was declared as the Man of the Match.
