NAGROTA: Lauding the valour of women in meeting challenges with fortitude, Provincial President National Conference Women Wing Vijaylaxmi Dutta on Thursday hoped for their big participation in the ongoing democratic exercise.
“Women were main stake holders in development and they are in a position to make a big difference by their power of vote”, Dutta said while addressing several election meetings in support of the party candidate Devender Singh Rana across the constituency.
At a largely attended meeting at Chabra, Dutta said women formed a strong support base of National Conference, the party which has all along worked for their empowerment and greater role in the decision making. She appreciated the awareness among women about development of their area and said their urge for upgrading utility services and implementation of welfare schemes was admirable.
Dutta referred to the contribution of Rana during the past few years for the development and progress of the area and said a network of roads have been laid, power and water supply improved besides rural development given new impetus. She said these services will witness further improvement in the years to come, given the commitment of Rana towards the development of the constituency.
The Provincial President Women Wing made a fervent appeal to the people especially the women to vote for Rana on 20th December, saying this will be support to the continuity of development in the constituency. She said Nagrota has a huge potential, which can be harnessed by the dedicated efforts of the National Conference candidate alone.
Dutta was accompanied during her campaigning in the constituency, among others, by Mukhtiara Begum, Sabira, Shamila Begum, Deen Mohammed, Tahira Begum, Bimla Devi, Satya Devi, Ranchna Kumari, Sai Mohammed, Yakeena Bibi and Makhan Lal.
