“Wolverhampton varsity keen to work with India”


London, Sept 13 (PTI) The University of Wolverhampton, one of the leading British varsities, is keen to work with India to improve education standards, create opportunities, build and strengthen business innovation and help it become a leading economy, its Chancellor Lord Swraj Paul has said.

“I am delighted that the new Prime Minister of India (Narendra Modi) has placed such a clear emphasis on improving education in the country,” Paul said at the Chancellor’s Graduation Dinner at Wolverhampton last night.

“As a University already working in India with key partners, the University of Wolverhampton is ready to play a leading role in this agenda,” the leading NRI industrialist and educationist said.

Describing the University of Wolverhampton as the ‘university of opportunity’, Paul, the Chairman of the Caparo Group, said, “We have great experience working with businesses to improve productivity and innovation and we would be delighted to extend this work in India.”

The University of Wolverhampton wants to work with India to improve education standards, create opportunities, build and strengthen business innovation and help India to become a leading economy.

Paul noted that the University has widened its international work with institutions in Myanmar, Kuwait, Nigeria and Singapore.

Paul said he was particularly proud of the partnerships that the University is building in India to create opportunity and help build the Indian economy.

“These are exciting times to be associated with the University of Wolverhampton, and I feel very privileged to be given the honour of continuing to serve as your Chancellor for the next five years,” said Paul, who is also the Chancellor of the University of Westminster.
