JAMMU: Expressing serious concern over lodging of FIR against eight officials, their suspension and attachment besides action against 150 other officials, Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association, Jammu sought immediate withdrawal of FIR and revocation of action taken against the forest officials aftermath the altercation between them and Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu, which took place during the meeting convened by Forest Minster Choudhary Lal Singh on 17th October at Sidhra.
In a meeting of Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association Jammu held under the chairmanship of Ravi Kumar, Provincial President and Gurcharan Singh, Senior Vice President Jammu Province here at Dogra Hall on Monday, threadbare discussion was held over the altercation witnessed during the meeting held on 17th October 2016 and subsequent action by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu Roshan Jaggi on behest of Forest Minister Choudhary Lal Singh. The Non-Gazetted Forest Officers also alleged that Jaggi misbehaved with the association members.
The meeting also condemned the administration and Forest Minister on whose directions all the staff from Doda, Kishtwar, Bhadarwah, Ramban, Batote, Ramnagar, Udhampur, Kathua, Billawar, Bani and Basohli Divisions, besides all other wings of Forest Department of far flung areas had been called at Sidhra without any boarding, transportation, food and other facilities.
The association members appealed to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for intervening in the matter and revoke the suspension and attachment orders and withdraw FIR against eight officials and action taken against 150 absentee officials. The meeting warned of intensifying the agitation if the demands are not met at the earliest.
