Wine shop ransacked, goons manhandle staff, loot stock; FIR lodged

JAMMU: A group of goons ransacked Wine Shop in Kheri village in Bishnah town on Saturday, police said. An FIR has been lodged against four accused and their accomplices for trespassing, manhandling, damaging and looting liquor bottles at Kheri.
Those against whom the FIR has been lodged include Vijay Saini, Sarpanch, Kheri, Vipin Kumar, Sarpanch Sarore, Pinka Sarpanch Chak Jawahar and Jatinder Kumar Sarpanch Ratnal with their accomplices. Besides manhandling the employees of wine shop, they have also threatened them.
Police has started the probe and the identification of the culprits is being conducted to take legal action against the attackers.
Prominent citizens of the area suggest the role of drugs’ mafia including those involved in manufacturing illegal and illicit liquor in the area are behind the motivated protests and attacks on licensed wine shops.
“Strict action will be taken against those have attacked the wine shop,” said a senior police officer, adding, “No one is above law, the culprits will be taken into custody shortly.”
